However I do now. My dog that my Grandad adopted from me died earlier this afternoon, old age almost 16 she didn't even make it to see the vet she died on my knee in the waiting room. Absolutely gutted
Its horrible isnt it. we had to take our dog to the vet one and half week ago. It hurt, it hurt a lot.
The one thing I hate about owning a dog When it's happened to me, it's torn my heart in two. If anyone is dispassionate about such an event and is derisory to someone in your situation, they can go fvck themselves with a cactus till they bleed! You have my deepest sympathy, Bryn.
They become part of the family we had to put our 18 month old Springer down 3 years ago i was gutted i also said no more lasted for about 12 months i have another 2 springer's now but the pain is still there you can never replace a dog feel for you mate really do
I know plenty of people on here don't like cats but we had to have one of ours put to sleep this summer and I was just beside myself. He was 16 and he'd been blind for a few years but everyone loved him and he seemed happy right up until the last few days. He's buried now underneath a tree he used to climb, on the riverbank. These pets are such a constant companion that when they go it can feel like you're never going to get over it. My sincere sympathy.
We had to put our dog down August 2011, I was absolutely gutted. As people have said, they are like a extra family member.
It's awful, as others have said they become family members. The last time it happened to me was with one of my cats, I got the vet out to my home to do it. Was in bits for a long time. Hope your Grandad is okay.
Sorry to hear that. It is proper gutting to lose a dog. Just like losing a family member. Raise a glass to her tonight.
I lost my West Highland at 15years old last year. It absolutely guts you. She was my best buddie and went all over with me. The only good thing is you can always think of the good times and fun she gave you. I am not a religous freak but this poem creased me and I have always remembered it If prayers can bring a pardon A broken heart a lane I'd walk right up to God's great door And beg her back again Cheers mate
