I've not read anything yet so for the moment I'm relatively positive

First of all, I really enjoyed the game. Yes, I know we lost, but it was a pretty good atmosphere, the Barnsley fans made plenty of noise and when we were pressing them ("dominating" them according to Darren Ferguson on Radio Cambridge) it was pretty entertaining stuff, albeit frustrating but I'm growing inured to that now.

A few players I wanted to mention: I thought Cranie was excellent in the first half and in the second O'Brien was really stretching them and getting at them. The more I see of Dawson the more I like him. Davies was finding it hard and getting out-fought on balls to him in the air and in retrospect it's a shame Big Marlon didn't replace him sooner. I did speculate that once Harewood came on we'd ironically probably start playing the ball forward on the ground ("Run, Marlon, run like the wind!") but actually it didn't seem to matter to him where we played it today - as well as his usual strength he looked a lot more mobile. Edit to add: Dagnall worked hard too and really deserved a goal but it just didn't look like his day.

Overall, I left shaking my head and wondering what we need to do to start getting results. As Fergie himself admitted we dominated the second half after a fairly even first half and he even said he'd have been happy with a point.

On a personal note it was lovely to see Tinatyke again (although we didn't get our audience until after the match 'cos she was in the posh seats) as well as Warks and family and Thrappo and not to mention being able to introduce myself to Mr C - nice to meet you, mate.

All in all, a grand day out somewhat spoiled by what IMHO was an undeserved result. Yes, I would definitely recommend attending Barnsley matches to a friend.
