But I can't see any way he can stay. No system, no energy and as devoid of anything that I consider to be Barnsley as I can ever remember. I don't think he's entirely to blame but I can't see how he can continue. McCarthy in short term with Conor assistant.
Totally agree mate, Hourihane is here for one reason only n that’s because he’s played for us, no experience no track record......get shut of the lot and let’s have a fresh start
Hourihane should be allowed nowhere near the job. If he gets the assistants job even short term it's stitch up complete
The only reason he stays is possibly it’s in his contract it can be ended if we don’t make play offs - maybe there’s an argument to say no point sacking him and paying out for sake of a few weeks, it’s not as if the thinking would be if we sack him we could push to make them, we’re miles off them.
Hourihane is very inexperienced and I agree he shouldn't be given the manager's job right now. However, getting rid of him because of a shambles not of his making would also be very short-sighted. He may well end up being a huge asset to the club in the future and isn't likely to be costing us much.
I don't think you can get shut of the coaching staff. Either financially or I don't think its right to have completely collective blame. I think the squad he's got is very average. The issue now is we're becoming - or are - below average. There's absolutely nothing in our performances to cling to and see hope. It's the worst in nearly 25 years - admin ravaged Glyn Hodges all that tops it. The board should be getting shut of Stormaz and rethinking this model. Experienced gaffer to get us back to f.cking basics. Like passing to each other, not f.cking throw ins up or having players knowing where to run.
Why are fans still deluded like this. Do they really think that McCarthy or Colin would want to come here and work with these terrible owners.
I don't think an out of work Mick McCarthy whose last job was getting sacked off the team in the 3rd Division that's just shagged us 3-0 at home is deluded. I think whats deluded / mad is thinking these owners are terrible. I think they're far from it but have made some bad decisions. If they were terrible they'd be taking money out not putting it in.
Obviously we don’t know infinite details but my guess would be he his the highest paid coach we have, and if he his it’s only because he has history with the club
I don't think they're terrible people. But it's difficult not to conclude that a complete rethink is needed on how the club is run and how funds are put in and used.
This is what annoyed me about the anti board chants in the ground. Yes, by almost any available metric they're failing to do a good job of running the club but "greedy ********"? It's some weird form of greed where it entails chucking millions of pounds into a black hole with little to no chance of ever seeing any kind of return on your investment.
Should get him in as a man behind the scenes like Luton did with Mick Hartford. We have no idea what Connor might be like as a first team coach, but I do remember thinking why have we appointed Danny Wilson, after the absolute abysmal season under Anderson with Wilson as his assistant, but with an experienced coach working with Wilson we all know what happened!
