I wanted Curbishley from the off and thought Robins would be a backwards step. However, ive since thought about it more and have warmed to the idea of Robins. He always comes across well on the radio after games, they have alwys done well in the cups against higher opposition and hes done a bloody good job at rotherham - not least getting them safe with that massive points deduction. So all in all im quite looking forward to him coming now.
the reason for me, is that he is a highly rated young manager, who is highly thought of within the game at all levels and has contatcts at all levels. Things can only look up.
I think we should all attempt to warm to him and let him settle into his new job without unnecessary additional pressures. It will serve no purpose whatsoever to put every little thing he does under the same critical scrutiny as Simon Davey suffered. Not unless we want to keep the same unpleasant atmosphere which made it difficult for the players and staff alike to do their jobs.
Simon wasnt scrutinised like that from the start - it was his constant poor tactics and team selections that led to that.
