Leeds manager Dennis Wise wants to sign Charlton striker Izale McLeod when the transfer window reopens.

Wise has been given £1m to spend on new players by chairman Ken Bates and has set his sights on the ex-Sheffield United and Derby forward.

McLeod has scored just once for Charlton this season, but Wise believes he could get the goals that will fire Leeds to promotion and is set to bid £300,000.

If he's only scored 1 for Charlton at this level, hes not what we need. We need someone who has scored goals at this level before.

I'm not entirely sure Macken fits into that bracket as a regular goalscorer either. I'd definitely take him as if he adds the goals to his all round game (the goals that he was getting in the last couple of games, for instance) then he would definitely be what we are looking for. I just think that we need a goalscorer at this level who has a bit of pace. Macken + pacey/nippy finisher, someone like David Connolly for example, would be exactly what we need.
