    I think because of the current situation regarding all clubs (except the top 6 Prem) finances are not what they were. Arguably no player has the valuation this season they had a year ago.

    As others have said, they’ve no chance at £8m. Could be another Joe Hart where he will never get his form back.

    I’ve honestly never thought he was that good. I remember when we got him on loan & I didn’t think his performances were any better than Luke Steele’s.

    I’m sure he probably did improve a bit to get the hype & England call ups he did but I don’t think he was ever a £20m plus player even in today’s era.
