http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,12876_7155708,00.html A host of clubs are hoping to secure a loan deal for Bolton starlet Jack Sampson, skysports.com understands. The 18-year-old is very highly-rated at the Reebok Stadium, and has just been capped by England Under-19s. The Trotters are now contemplating whether to allow target-man Sampson to gain first-team experience elsewhere. It is understood that clubs from both the Championship and League One are keen on Sampson. The likes of Middlesbrough, Barnsley, Oldham and Brentford are thought to be amongst those keen on a possible loan.
agree hemsworth, why waste a wage on another player when we have rose and clarke waiting in the wings
they cant do any more imo. of clark, rose ect was at a prem club they would be young england. beat arsenal, crewe and fulham.
Rose is always going to be overlooked though HT with him being a titch. Personally would like to see him making the bench rather than the next influx of loanees.
I agree mate. I think Rose is going to be a top player and he should be getting more opportunities at this stage. I'd certainly have him above a loanee in the Oakwell pecking order.
mhtr, hes 5,10 + with q good leap and a deadly eye for the onion bag. i guess this guy been playing res, u18 football last season. wonder how many he got?
Have seen him and know of his capabilities Hems but tha convincing wrong un, tha needs to talk Keithy abart it sharpish. Overlook / small maybe he cant see him down there.
hes training with first team. so they will see him. hassell said he was the mosting promising youngster at the club.
Rose is 6ft tall according to many things ive read.. he doesnt look it. but he does look like a talented BARNSLEY lad. he reminds me of a young Michael Owen. very sharp, agile, a pest. and clinical.. he would be on my bench this setdi. worth throwing him on for 10 mins. look at the impact he had against Wendy. he knocked Rob Jones on his arse in no time, got ragged down when thru, AND got denied a great chance late on. he is scoring goals for fun in the HIGHEST league for his age group. he can do little more. but if Keith thinks he isnt ready, then why is this Sampson ready? they play at the same level. is it because he is bigger, bulkier? what, and that makes a player better does it? makes em READY? i refer back to Owen then. did being small n slight stop him? no, he got many a goal thru pace and being a pest. and being clinical. ask Ayala and Chamot... oh, and everytime ive seen Rose, he has always been in and around the box. and HOW ID WISH to see a striker in our box.. but, Keith knows best. and he's already brought in a kid to play wide, rather than sticking with Reuben.
Got to agree with the comments about Rose. I am not saying this lad Sampson won't be a decent player but Rose has looked a real handful when he has played for us, he has certainly looked good enough to be bench and give him a chance to prove himself over a fair few games coming on for half hour or so. I reckon he could be a nuisance for defences and there is no doubting his goalscoring ability at the level he is at.
going back to the 5 subs rule hasnt helped the younger players, managers seem less inclined to put them on the bench due to lack of experience in the first team, they should go back to 7 subs with stipulation that at least 2 have to be academy players
