Currently playing LCB in Bratfud's back three, and making a decent fist of it.

He’s better than some of what we currently have! Apart from the cup game last season we rarely conceded when he played.

While I understand the rationale in loaning him out, I think we'd probably be better with him in the side than without him.

Lopata and Shepherd doing well on loan, albeit at lower leagues, whilst we have a defence currently playing at levels befitting a lower league.

Started watching from just before the Newport goal and there’s some cracking football on display here. That cross and bullet header from Hudlin was fantastic.

Very entertaining stuff. Almost forgotten what that was like.

Funny, I watched from about 20-45 minutes and thought it was absolutely dreadful. Must have improved!

Must have! Both teams were moving the ball around quickly with usually accurate passing. No pedestrian stuff around the back. 3-1 to City and all very good goals.

Not sure some would class Scottish Premier league as lower down than league 1

I'd say it is, bar the usual 2. Just look at the players that go there from L1 and L2...

I'd say the majority are no higher, with the exception of 3 or 4 teams.

Sam Cosgrove was a regular goalscorer there. That's how bad it is.

It's weird. I went to Hearts v Aberdeen last season and I'd say the overall standard was about League 1. However Lawrence Shankland and the Aberdeen striker Miovski (Macedonian international now playing for Girona) easily looked capable of top end Championship/lower Premier League. Regardless, I reckon that Duff's Barnsley side would have beaten Aberdeen easily, and certainly have been a match for Hearts. The atmosphere was absolutely incredible. Full house, big away following, and some bagpipers serenading the players onto the field. And padded seats.

My mate is a Celtic fan and he says the league is laughable. We joked when Rangers dropped their first points that the season was already over, although Aberdeen are making a fist of it for now at least. He fully expected Celtic to get battered in Europe.

Must be really difficult to not really be tested but to try and be good enough for the European games.

I didn’t have much of an issue with loaning out Shepherd as I expected us to sign another left back & not have a shortage of options there.

It looks a dafter decision when you’ve got Earl playing left back or even left wing back with right footed Marc Roberts playing on the left side of the defence.

Fingers crossed he’ll be a top player for us next season. He’s got the physical attributes & is good on the ball. If he can get a full season of regular football at league two level then I reckon he’ll be a regular here next season.
