"We wanted to allow Jacob the chance to go over because if he's to play in the World Cup he needs to be playing at a level of the Championship or above so we were trying to be good to him. But he's a good player and has done well for us and we'd like him for our run in.</p> "To let him leave for nothing at this stage would be a bit remiss of us. The deal is not dead in the water though."</p>
