How's that work then? He's under contract with us... if we terminated the contract we get no money, so where's the sense? What's gone off exactly?
as I understand it the window only applies to contracted players so if both parties agree to terminate the contract-presumably at no cost to us-then the transfer can proceed-but we'd have needed cast iron guarantees from Krakow before doing it
Meant to say (edited), that I agree with what you said....
so then...
Newcastle let us have chopra for 1 million (example only)
and we both agree etc...
you can't do that, it is still classed as a transfer. Only players OUT of contract or unattached are allowed to move clubs.
only way this could be done, would be to terminate his contract. then he would be a free agent. and we get nowt.
OR
have we discovered a legal loophole. but we would still need to justify the transfer of money. Unless its an over priced Pork Pie they have bought....

I might be wrong, but... If Poland isn't subject to the transfer window, which they may not be, I certainly don't know, then they might be able to have him. If the transfer were the other way round, i.e. we were buying Burns from them I think he'd have to wait, but I don't think the window applies to outgoing transfers, only if they're going to another club that has the window.
players have always been able to be sold in transfer window when the prem was but the lower league were not were still able to buy from prem clubs.
Why aren't clubs in Poland subject to the transfer window though? They come under UEFA's jurisdiction, just like us.
That's not the case We can sign players without a club, but we can't sign anyone who was with a club after the transfer window closed. So if a club terminated the contract of a player we couldn't sign them until the transfer window opens in the summer. Or we could, but we couldn't play them.
Doesn't their season run at different times to ours ? So perhaps (I'm making this up by the way) their own transfer window coincides with similar time points in the Polish season ?

RE: Doesn't their season run at different times to ours ? It does. All national associations set their own transfer windows.
but, isn't there also an "international" window aswell as a domestic?? this is gettin complecated....
All National Associations? Breaking News... the national rifle association have today let Vice President Dick Cheney go on a free transfer following a disappointing loan spell. "His shooting skills were limited and generally off target" said someone else from somewhere. I'm bored now.
RE: Doesn't their season run at different times to ours ? I brought this up last week but still can not understand it! Transfer windows at different times in different countries just are not workable only for domestic transfers! Polish teams can sell players but there would be nobody able to buy them and visa versa! Does not make sense! Really need clarification on this!
