So Jacob failed to win Poland's I Liga with Wisla Krakow finishing second, 7 points adrift and Jacob failed to get a spot in Australia's World Cup squad.

We all know that the Football Federation of Australia (FFA) told Jacob that he would have to be playing at Championship level or higher to be considered for the squad. So Jacob went off to Wisla and Barnsley has won only 3 of their 14 games since he left...

and the Australian squad includes Luke Wilkshire of Bristol City.

Don't know about you folks, but I feel ripped off because Jacob did not want to go but couldn't let the chance of playing in the World Cup slip by.

I expect Barnsley to win on Saturday and get promoted but a part of me will feel sorry for Jacob, who I'm sure is none too happy (although he is in the UEFA Cup next season).

Luke Wilkshire is a better player and isnt Burns on a three year deal playing(or not) at a much higher level....I wouldnt feel too sorry for him

and Jacob lived near Leeds and was very happy there for a number of years.... young family as well.... very settled, I thought. I spoke to him at t'well eighteen months ago and he was obviously enjoying his life.

    ah well...

and by the way, I thought I was the only gay in this village.

    Fooking excuse me Mr. but................

did someone force Burns to take himself off to Poland or was it a case of ambition overiding his responsibitity to fufil his contract. I no longer have an axe to grind over the Burns situation and neither do I wish him any amount of bad luck. But,by the same token neither do I give a fook about the remainder of his career.

    Burns Proved.....

there is no loyalty in him towards us as he put himself first chasing a pipe dream. wtf is the point of contracts if players can ask to leave whenever they want and it be granted to them ?

he went because they offered him a long contract on more money than he could ever get over here. The fact that Luke Wilkshire is in the WC squad proves any other reasons were a bit contrived.

    Add to that..

the fact that his agent said we could stop him leaving if we improved his contract at the last minute.
