Shyed out of far too many challenges.
Tried taking on far too many people numerous times.
Needs to get his head out of the clouds. I would have brought him off rather than Vaz Te.

After todays performance against a big physical side, i feel it just proves he won't be anywhere near good enough to play in the premiership so far. Far too light weight in my opinion and wouldn't be able to cope.

But.....if he so wishes to leave, then so be it. Like Mr Hill said, there is always a solution...

It's interesting as I remember seeing Butterfield in the reserves and his asset was his Van Der Laan esque tackling. Now he seems much the opposite. However his om the ball ability a couple of years back was not as good as last 12 months

Maybe he doesn't want to get injured before his big move....

That's exactly what BigDave8322 said at the game, and I have to agree....

Thats what I was about to post..
Also, for those who may not know, Jacob was the player with the most successful tackles made the last time I looked... so, err, yeah

Apparently he was going out round Covent Garden after the match and didn't want to get mucky.

Drop a guy who upto yesterday had set up six goals and scored one in the past four? Who else have we got who's involved one way or another in nearly two goals per game over a four game period? Yesterday he nearly set up another with his pinpoint free kick onto the bonce of Edwards. It was only an excellent Green save that stopped Buttercup having another assist.

    Another defeat

Another example of Jacob Butterfield being the only player in the team singled out for criticism.

    We simply don't deserve him.

Our only creative player Satdi - no disgrace to be 'outmuscled' by the missing link that is Bouba Diop (who was practically up his arse the whole game).

I wouldn't say that, Ranger has taken stick

    As has Addison

Why aren't people allowed to voice their opinion about Butterfield unless it's a positive one?

I've been rather critical of him over the last month n a bit, but I wouldn't say it's because I think he's a poor player, far from it. On his day, there are few midfielders as good as him outside the premier league. However he does seem to have got a bit big headed, I mean even Andy Gray said in a recent interview that the idea of being captain has gone to his head, so much to the point where he's walking aroud with the arm band on. I wish I could just say he's very confident in the role he's playing, but if anything, I feel the added responsibility is holding him back, and I feel a move to the premier league now would be suicidal for his career. If he stays here, in what is a vastly imrpoving squad, cements a place and continues to improve for another couple of years, he'd stand a better chance of making it in the premier league in a couple of years.

Maybe people are critical of Butterfield, because we've been in this position before, when we've had an exceptional talent on our hands. We're critical because we expect him to leave, no matter how much we want him to stay.
