    Brilliant.

The way he can control the ball's amazing and his vision. Very good.

Nice pass for the Second to Scott Wiseman.

He ripped them to bits with his passing in 1st half.

yes he was good yesterday - was it his pass over to Dagnall too for the first?

He's got great vision, terrific passer of the ball.

He could have scored a couple too, on another day.

Great through ball by Perkins for Daggers' second, also.

Yes he has got those attributes and probably the best technically gifted we have got.

However, he has an heart like a pea and so is not for me. Doesn't put enough in IMHO.

You're entitled to your opinion but I have to disagree.

He made another two goals yesterday, and was at the heart of most of our good play until Kelvin went off and O'Brien came on and did jack ****, leaving Wiseman with no cover.

He was clouted in the throat by their defender, but continued, and made a few decent interceptions.

But yes, his workrate isn't his best attribute, and like Butterfield last season a lot of fans focus on that rather than the key skills he brings to the plate on a weekly basis.

God you stuck up for Wiseman there, but had a go at O`Brien instead, kinda compensates YT.

It's fair enough having a lot of hard workers in your team but they're not going to create many goals. We need someone in the hole with a bit of quality who can pick a pass and provide the assists. Mellis can do that. I guess it's about finding the right balance between the number of creative players and the number of high energy players. I think we had that yesterday.

If you've ran around like a mad man defending and hurrying the opposition you're going to be too tired to thread a perfectly weighted through ball through to set up a goal.

Yes and I stick by what I believe about him. But as your bringing other players into the equation, I for one never questioned Butters's work rate but I do agree about O'Brien yesterday who looked like he didn't want to be there.

I'm with you YT. Mellis is quality. Always been a fan, he makes a +ve contribution in most games. I don't see him as lazy either. He wont be flying into tackles bur he does chase back, he did a few times yesterday. For me he is the best player we have technically. His assist/goal tally tells its own story and the passes he makes to create the assist if you get my drift.

    I think Jacob Mellis

Is our most skillful & creative player. His strengths are different to the ones of Dawson, Perkins, Etuhu & O'Brien, but are no less important.

Mellis is a good technical player. He should be playing at the very top, but he is not, Why? He does not put the work in he should and soon goes off the boil. If he was consistent and took a page out of Perky,s book he would be brilliant

Mellis looks a class act when he has the work rate around him. But without that he's a passenger we cant afford to carry. Stuck out like sore thumb as soon as Kelvin went off.

Not a bad player for a freebie, though. Double figures for assists, and 3 goals is it? And he's not even a regular.

Because O'Brien came on and did nowt.
