This isn't because they have Mellis on trial, but I reckon Blackpool are going to be serious relegation fodder this season. They don't have much of a squad now, but even the targets they're after seem to be the targets of League 1 clubs. I think Charlton will be the same without major investment.

I often wonder if clubs even bother to watch players that they're interested in. It wouldn't take long to work out who is worth a contract and who isn't. Based on last season, had they bothered to watch Mellis, they'd know he's the latter.
No they won't. We never had a midfield three of Dawson, Mellis and Perkins. If they had signed Polish Tom, JOB or Jennings maybe.
I know but I couldn't be arsed to type that out. Who were the midfield 3 when we played wing backs against Huddersfield. Can't be srsed to find out.
Sometimes people just go with potential and latent ability. I mean we would never have signed Vaz Te based on reputation or his previous couple of Seasons.
