Jamal's goal - anyone notice how BOTH strikers were....

Discussion in 'Bulletin Board ARCHIVE' started by Gloucester_Red, Feb 19, 2009.

  1. ....inside the six yard box as the ball rifled into the net. Both of them!!! If anything, Mifsud was a touch offside but what a nice change to see two strikers in that position. Jamal didn't need any help though did he :)
Sublime move though - Moore heads out from their corner, De Silva cruises up to the half way line and plays a peach of a ball to Bogdanovich who, in turn, brilliantly finds JCR. Hmm, more of the same this Saturday....

    Credit to Davey as well.

Leaving three attacking players up when the opposition have a corner is to my liking. Good stuff.

Poet i watch Simon davey a lot during the game and he does try and get the players to do this but they don't. Another think that as got me a little mad is this thing that he never moves during the game. These people either don't watch Simon during the game or don't go simple. Ive said it in my head most games to my self carm down Simon carm down because hes after the assistant and the 4th official so many times and and could can tell hes shouting at them. I no hes been sent off once this year but it could easily be 5 times and he same with keeper coach and Kidd.

PEOPLE ON HERE JUST WONT TO PUT HIM DOWN SIMPLE AS.

I think he's giving credit to Davey and trying to counter some of the criticism aimed at Davey. It just didn't read very well

The lay off to JCR was one of those that the whole crowd sees but never expect to actually happen. So credit where credit's due. Also, this is the first time in ages that we've tried hitting the opposition throught the centre of the pitch.

  9. I liked our obvious attacking intent while DEFENDING a corner

So often you have seen Barnsley players crowding their own penalty box with no outlet available if the keeper catches it or a defender heads away. This time it seems that we had players up the field so Anderson had someone to pass to having made a good bit of ground himself. That outside of the boot pass from Bogdanovich was a touch of class and, of course, JCR's finish.......well, nothing less than top class! I hope he does it to one of his old clubs tomorrow.
The bad news, by the way, is that I will be at Oakwell. My record is not great

I just wonder how this approach will work when we are at home

Looks like the set up against Wednesday was for counter-attacking, i.e., probably away from home.

I don't know if Davey will play the samesystem at Oakwell.
