17 years old, 1-0 up in injury time of a fierce local derby and he finds himself breaking forward. He's got no options to pass and if he loses the ball United are coming back at us. I'm still not sure what he did. But from where I was sat that piece of skill at that moment in the game looked world class. All of a sudden he's turned his man and he's got 3-4 different passes to play. We could have scored off that move too. 17 years old, wow.
I reckon he'll be better than Stones. Broke into the team earlier. Just needs someone like Ramage to help guide him, ill be suspecting offers for him in January and the summer. Lets hope he stays and develops on first team football rather than wasting away in an academy.
It was a bit special that wasn't it. As was the fact that Wilson brought him on in the first place. We needed another centre half. We were knackered, the ball wasn't sticking up front and Utd were putting us under all sorts of pressure (although creating very few chances). The obvious move was to put M'Voto on. Instead we bring on a lad who has just turned 17 and move Cranie in to the middle. That's a hell of a lot of faith we have in such a young player. And it works. Not only does Bree do the defensive side of the game, he carries the ball in to the opposition's half, relieves the pressure and almost creates a second for us.
He's going places, if he carries on developing like he is he'll be playing in the premier league and hopefully for a decent club like Stones. I'm sure Ben will get a good deal for him, a deal that reflects his talent and potential.
The lads already turned down Man Utd to stay here. Club won't sell him either. Really looking forward to watching him develop.
He could be playing for England in a couple of years, thus strengthing the Barnsley links in the national side At least the fans in this thread know he's 17 unlike the Chronicle refering to him as 16 a few times the other day.
I'm glad 'you' do, pal. But there's plenty on here who wanted shut of Danny a week or two ago. Not much trusting was going on, despite my and other folks assurances.
He is only 16.. Was talking to his auntie the other day at work and said they'd announced he was 17 day before Bradford game, she said he's not 17 till December, his birthday is 11 Dec, she sez he's dying to buy a car
