Too old and inconsistent at Championship level for our profile

John Marquis won't be on our radar so i guess Vaughan won't. With strikers I do reckon we'll take advantage of the loan market. We have Bradshaw on permy but he needs a good strike partner

You say "James Vaughan", but all I'm hearing is "Leroy Lita".

I think those days are thankfully behind us.

Although, having said that, his record last season was (much) more impressive than I thought. Even bearing that in mind, not sure he'd fit in with what we're building.

    Nah not for me either.
I actually think, we'll be scouting the French, and come to that the rest of the European markets, for lower league talent within our structure that we can develop.
Otherwise why would we employ a CEO who has expertise in this area of recruitment.
Strikers in the English game are quite hard to come by.. and every club is after them.
We would either have to get young premier league loanees, who are a gamble on a season long loan. Or try and complete with the bigger clubs for players who have scored 20+ at league one or two!
Especially for strikers who fit the Barnsley DNA.

A definite yes from me. Watch a video of his goals last season and tell me that he doesn't remind you of Sam Winnall.

I know he is outside of the usual age profile and would have little in the way of resale value but he would be a useful asset for a couple of years and provide the goals that will give this team a chance to gel (must be about the same age as Hammil).
He is in the form of his life. It's not just the amount of goals it's the fact that he scores all types (like SW). He would suit our style of play.
I can't see anything better out there within our budget, not in the EFL.

I'm torn on this. He's not really scored enough in the championship before, but he might be the best we'd get. Sign him and 2 young promising strikers - a big man and a speedster - and our forward line looks decent.
I think if we played him every game and we are decent he'd get over 10 goals
