Should Never Have Scored Did we not just have him for the past couple of months? So know his strengths and weaknesses really well from training and games? Yes we let him score.....Heard he went mental when he scored as well. He could have showed a bit more tact.
RE: Should Never Have Scored Not really, He is a Norwich player and I would have done the same, he said on Radio Norwich he wanted to stay there and happy to get fit!! ie, was never going to sign for us and who can blame him?
Maybe...just maybe... Somebody passed to him? Strange idea I know, but when you've got a renowned goalscorer on the pitch, I'd guess that it's not a bad tactic to put into operation?
We tried that aginst Sothampton He had some great chances but looked about as dangerous as Barbie. Sounds like we totally gifted him his goal today.
Who's Sothampton... And, yes, we did get the ball to Cureton, however, he was denied by a great save by Kelvin Davis. He did miss a couple of chances, but 200 goals in the professional ranks, just proves what a class act he is and what a coup it was for us to get a player of his calibre into the club. It was inevitable, that a player of his class, was going to score against our abject defence.
RE: Should Never Have Scored Should have been more like when Defoe scored for Pompey against Spurs or when Payton scored for us against Burnley, which put them in the ****.
He was an idle b*****d when he played for the reds How on earth did he get "fit" without doing any running? He just waved his arms around a lot.... Did he try today?
And he created and scored 2 great goals. We need someone like him in the team constantly. How people can slate him, is beyond me. An opportunist striker who has scored over 200 career goals. Hmmm.
