The entire season possibly even the long term future of Barnsley FC will be decided by the transfer activity at Oakwell in January, If Luke Steele and Craig Davies are allowed to leave and the recent loan players or alternatives of similar standing not resigned / signed then I fear League 1 football next season is a certainty. Both Luke and Craig have said in recent interviews that they want to stay but yet the club appear to have decided not to start talks with them which is a very dangerous path to take. Then there is the future of the young upcoming players Like John Stones. I don't have a problem with a policy of bringing youth players on or improving players brought in cheaply and selling either at a large profit but to constantly keep allowing players to get near or reach the end of their contracts and so either leave for nothing or for whatever crumbs another club throw our way is not acceptable and if this happens again then I'm sorry but whoever is in control of this aspect of running the club needs to be replaced and quickly. The attendance is already dropping alarmingly just imagine crowds in league 1 if players have again been allowed to leave on the cheap thanks to the incompetance of senior management at Oakwell. For gods sake Mr Cryne Mr Rowing Mr Taylor who ever it is whose supposed to be running the club get your finger out and get things sorted.

I find it unbelievable that we still haven't got our two most saleable assets negotiating long term contracts. I agree that if we lose these two and the loan signings we're in the **** but from the outside it appears as though we're ambivalent about our league status.

Not to mention we have Peterborough United and Ipswich Town away with Leeds United at home inbetween.
