What do we need in terms of recruitment? I'm summising Collins will be here but will there be funds to strengthen? We could be well down the table by then considering all our wins have come from 12th place and below with no wins against top half, granted we have lots of fixtures to come. Getting connell back will be huge but wouldn't expect to see him fully functioning until another 4 weeks. Squad is bulky for me in areas no idea what's happening with the likes of Cundy, McCarthy I'd tempted to loan them out get them off the payroll if they are fit. I've made no secret in the past I hate playing with wingbacks I think it just became a trend and as a club we jumped on the bandwagon, our wingbacks are rarely a threat and often get exposed and it becomes counter productive teams just play in behind us down the channels. I'd like us to sign a decent experienced centre back even if it's on a short term deal but we probably won't as it doesn't fit the model and then switch Williams back to RWB. Failing to bring in a decent CB I think creatively Styles, Mcatee playing off Cole give us our best hope I'd prefer us to play a 4231 with connell and Phillips the 2 and Mcatee Styles and Jalo the 3 behind Cole giving us width further up the top end rather than playing square from deep to build width, I think Jalo could fit in well coming inside from out wide and stick Mcatee the other side as he can press opposing RB/LB and does have tricky feet to beat a man, put Styles off Cole, defensively gives us solidity and many more playing options against the better teams.
Some interesting points there, and I agree that we could almost be down to mid table and possibly out of the Promotion race by then. Especially if the home form doesn't improve, or the good away form ends. A heck of a lot now matters in the upcoming fixtures, against the better teams in this League. However, we haven't become a sh*it League One side overnight, just because of that Fa cup freakshow last night.
