Good day out at Selby Town Vs Hallam today with us not playing due to internationals.

Selby won 4-0 and played some good stuff second half after a scrappy first 45. 8 of us went through to watch it from uni. We normally go and watch Bridlington a couple of times a year but they were playing Athersley Rec so it's a bit far from HuWe ended up talking to the manager's son and wife for a while when I joked about their striker looking just like Jason Price who played at Hull, Doncaster, Millwall etc. He then said it was actually him, he still looks about 25 but he's actually 36. We then decided that for the second half we would sing his name for the entirety which he was loving. After the game one of their players grabbed us and took us into their changing rooms and we sung to him in there as well, a strange experience indeed! We then bought him a pint in the clubhouse and had 20 minutes chatting to him, a real nice lad he was. I apologised for giving him a load of **** when he was at Doncaster which he laughed at.

Also got talking to the manager who's doing a cracking job there and got them playing some good stuff, a really friendly bloke as well. All in all a really good day and for me that's what football is all about. We had a good time, the other fans came and congratulated our singing and Jason got a free pint. Happy days.

My younger brother was there today as well! I used to go a lot as I am good friends with a former manager but a lot of stuff went on with the club that was very under hand and I won't step in the place until certain things change.

Shame really I went to the primary school at the side of the ground ( behind the dugouts) and I live the other side of that.

They could have gone up 3 times in 4 years and the chairman didn't want to due to costs and things and not long after got relegated.

Oh right don't know any of the history whatsoever and just went on what we saw today.

Never been to Selby before but what a lovely place, especially with the big church in the town centre. Went into a few pubs down the high street and really enjoyed it. Although the Wetherspoons is the poshest one I've ever been in, didn't like it at all!!
