I would imagine quite considerable. However, as a short term investment it's almost paid for itself already with a couple of winning goals. Seems keen to be involved, epitomised by driving up to Hull to watch us before he'd signed.
Just wondered if affordable til end of season but 2 year contract may be a bit steep for us. Aint a clue thats why I asked really.
Then don't even think about it until then. Not even Flicker has anything longer than that, and he's an immortal God
"This is a guy who isn't interested in money, he just feels he has something to offer to a Championship team." - DF http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/21231286 "Ipswich Town boss Paul Jewell has said striker Jason Scotland has waived his right to a pay increase" http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/21231286 He won't be on a lot of money, I reckon his wages will be affordable whether we're in the Championship or League 1, whether it's 6 months or 2 years.
It'll all depend on which league we're in. If he helps to keep us up I imagine Flicker would be wanting to keep him.
sign him up and pay hi relative to what league wear in simple even for me.When did we last have a natural goal scorer, ?
Well, the early signs are that the team we have down at Oakwell now is one worth keeping, both on the pitch and in the dugout. Two things to consider before starting to renew contracts though. Firstly, what will happen when chips are down (so we need to see how the management and team react to a couple of defeats) and, most importantly, we need to see which division we'll be playing in next season. If the players are willing to sign tiered contracts though, whereby they are willing to take a wage cut if we go down, then get cracking on signing them up. May be more difficult to keep hold of players we have brought up from lower divisions (Perkins, Dawson, etc) than players we've brought in from a higher level. Some of these players have plugged away for years in the lower divisions waiting for their chance in the championship and I can't see them being ready to give it up easily. Certainly their performances on the pitch suggest they deserve to stay at this level.
Id get him signed up. He's a naturally talented player and has shown he's still got a lot to offer, despite not being fully fit by his own admission. If all goes to plan and we stay up, the least he deserves will be another shot at this division. If all goes tits up and we go down, I can't think of a better weapon to tackle league 1 with, than a natural goalscorer. I just hope I haven't spoke too soon and Scotland turns out to be another Gary O'Connor. Although, Scotland's done it at this level and above for a while now and I reckon he'll certainly do a job here, whether it be short or long term.
i think if we dont sign him and he keeps knocking em in somebody else surely will and there not too far up the M1,?
