Over-rated show pony. Legend in his own mind.

Still a better defender that anything we've got now!

He may well be, but not by much. We were shipping goals with him in the team. Just like Derby, just like Burnley.

His downfall was his habit of legging upfront leaving defence short if we lost possesion

Who cares, its good to see the cocky Burnley fans moaning a bit.

He may well be better than Foster, and Wiseman, but I guarantee he's earning more than the pair of em combined, and then some. And, he's no better than McNulty.

    But, that's just my opinion.

Looking forward to our trip to Turf Moor this season, quite a local away day for me, and I get to shout obscenities at Greedy Jason.

*I never shout obscenities. I was fibbing.

I watched out for Shackell on the football league show last season, and to be honest on the ground I agree he's a nice footballer, doesn't like to challenge big rough forwards for headers though,Derby...and ourselves conceded a lot like that,
I'm convinced people are swayed by the fact the physically he looks a Rolls Royce and some are prepared to blame any other defender on the pitch than the glorious Beckenbauer-like Club Captain!!....much over-rated and certainly couldn't hack it in the Premier League.
PS I have to admit there is a hint of sour grapes in my assessment!!

Have to disagree. He's far better than McNulty.

As Don said, dressing room is better without him. Must've nicked somebody's peg or summat!

Heard some strange stories about him. As a person, he was apparently lacking.
And he cheats on his missus, who stays with him, due to the yearly signing on fees etc...

We certainly seemed to concede a lot of headed goals from players he was supposed to be marking when he was with us, that you wouldn't really have expected due to his size.

Anyway, from what I have seen in the Boro and Bristol City games, we have stumbled upon our best centre back pairing for some time!

And you know Bobby's peg is holy, don't you? No lie, he won't use any other!
