Ball flies into net, and Ricketts walks away looking totally unimpressed/ borderline unhappy. What's that about? (dunno)
Southend fans saw it differently http://www.shrimperzone.com/vb/showpost.php?p=583191&postcount=42 I was one of the anti booing brigade, I couldn't understand why he was being booed and was defending him, until he scored, don't get me wrong great goal, (although I beleive Hunt gave him to much respect) my problem was with his celebrations, he ran the whole length of the pitch and for me really rubbed our noses in it, this from a respected ex player was not on, the celebration should have been muted and respect from me would have continued, not now, if we play against him again I will be the one booing the loudest, sorry JCR you're history.
Poor signing, impressed during one pre-season game Don't think he will be here much longer - out on loan by end of Jan?
Are you lot retarded? Hes been one of better players this season! Although Massai i suspect your talking about Ricketts
RE: I was talking about Ricketts nt Ricketts looks and plays as though he would much rather be somewhere else. However, I have heard he is **** hot in training!!
RE: Southend fans saw it differently Let's face it. What really pigs Southend fans off is that they thought they were going to stay up last season at our expense (laughibly, I also get the impression some of them think they are a bigger club than Barnsley). For one of their former players now to be prospering at last seasons relegation rivals hurts. For him to come back and get the winner is the final straw. Celebrations or no celebrations it seems to me this particular Southend fan just cannot move on.
I Don't See Their Problem With His Celebration He only celebrated with his team mates and the travelling fans. He didn't make any gestures to them or goad them. Sour grapes I think.
As I saw it he waited to celebrate until he got back to the Barnsley fans. It shows him shrugging off Souza til he got back to the fans. It also shows the Southend fans booing before he'd even scored. We went to the match, and after Barnsley had warmed up, JCR clapped all the fans in the stadium, all the way round. For me, that shows he respected all the fans, not just ours. I also think its a case of sour grapes on their side...
RE: I Don't See Their Problem With His Celebration thats exactly what i saw,if he wanted to 'rub there noses in it', he would have stayed down that end and celebrate in front of the southend fans, not run to the other end of the pitch to celebrate in front of the tarn fans, sour grapes indeed.
That's ridiculous From what I saw on TV that was a muted celebration - he didn't celebrate in front of their fans but instead ran the length of the pitch in order to celebrate in front of the Barnsley fans, I viewed that as showing some respect to fans he used to play for.
