    Sorry if other people have picked up on this but it wasn't long ago when he signed the new contract. It's a possibility that they asked him to sign a new contract before the window opens, because they knew they would recieve big offers for him. With JCR signing a new contract, it means barnsley recieve compensation for it,

    Agreed Mark. We left his contract situation too long. Fancy not offering our club captain and top scorer a new contract until so late.
