Does Anyone Else Think He Trys To Beat Too Many Menm Instead of Just Putting Cross In Straight Away?

First time i've seen him for us today, and yes, I think he should have got the cross in sooner rather than running to the corner flag. TT
RE: I Thought...... I Thought He Did Well, BUT Trys To Take Too Many Men On Instead Of Getting Ball In 1st Time
Always goes down the outside for the byline then when he gets there its "like what do i have to cross it now?" oooops its gone out for a goal kick!
RE: I Thought...... he held on to the ball for 2 long today wen he cud have passed and tried to take players on instead of just puttin a cross in
Very good potential, if he can learn when to pass and not be silly in our own half he'll be good for his money.
exactly what southend/rotherham fans said trickery and pace, no end product. cant complain though, did well to beat 5 men in the first half (Y) more crosses and ill be happy
I think he does have an end product Just doesn't release it at the right time. Seems to like getting to the byline too much, when it would be easier to pass/cross long before.
Not a patch on his Southampton performance today but even then he had two good shooting opportunities which he spurned in favour of running into trouble. On the plus side, defenders are genuinely scared of him and he pulls the central players wide to double-mark him. He just needs to learn to hit a shot or cross when the opportunity arises to exploit the space this generates.
His run in the first half was very entertaining and certainly raised our spirits. He should have mixed it up a bit though rather than going for the line each time
At times he does try to do too much but he is a right handful and is looking a danger in every game. Also very impressed with his defensive work, which I didn't really expect to see from him. Looks a good buy to me.
He won us a load of corners today with the way he attacked the Cardiff defence.
Wing play isn't just about getting crosses in.

I would like to see Devaney more this season. Highest ranked player we had last season. JCR will always be a player that you love or hate, inconsistant and frustrating , but still a good buy.
Just what we were saying today. He always tries to get to the line before he attempts to look up. A boot up arse from Davey will put him right.
People around us were shouting for him to put a cross in when he had 2 players in front of him bllocking any potential cross, he needs a player to support him which will drag one of those defenders off him. Thought he had an excellent game and, for me, was second only to Howard for man of the match
Yes - not been very impressed with him so far. There's nothing more frustrating for a striker than a winger like JCR - Mottso was getting pretty pissed off with him when he kept taking the ball to the byline and beating his man several times over. hopefully it can be trained out of him.
