Absolutely ridiculous. One of the stupidest decisions I've seen. Henry talking to Souness during the game regarding how poor the decision was summed it up.
I wouldnt say its one of the stupidest decisions ive ever seen, i've seen far worst. Was certainly worth a booking.
Given the start yesterday from the refs then they should have been aware, thought it was harsh but he could easily have broken the guys leg with that challenge. And Newcastle were lucky not to be down to 9 men right after - can't remember the player but they had one booked for protesting about the sending off and immediately after, the same player elbowed an Arsenal player!
Boumsong i believe. Yeah it was quite dangerous. He won the ball cleanly, his trailing leg then could have caused Gilberto an injury. Was still shocked to see a red card, but he did come from behide. I was more shocked when Sanderos(spelling?) pulled down Dyer, when it seemed Dyer had a decent chance of a clean run in on goal. I found this just as bad of a decision.
RE: Actually.. On second viewing I think the red was justified.. He went through Gilberto to get the ball, he took his standing leg and then played the ball. Could've easily snapped his leg if Gilberto's studs had caught in the turf. It was fairly reckless.
