    When asked why Barnsley:

    ""Err. Just spoke to the (Bayern) manager and we got it out there that I wanted to come back to england. A few championship clubs were interested and we had a few meetings and I thought Barnsley were best for me"

    Sounds like Flicker did a decent job of selling the club to him including where he wanted to play him and his interest in him when he was at tranmere! Good stuff!

    Good little update from Don follows. Sounds like Watkins was instrumental in getting Dale to Oakwell. £250k from the Stones kitty for a player of arguably the same quality, possibly better.

    So, what sort of level do Bayern II play, compared to English game - L1, L2, Conference? According to some sour owls on Owlstalk it is a very low standard

    I have absolutely no doubt Dale's best football is still to come and he's in a perfect place to develop and flourish. I think he be a fan's favourite in no time at all and Hemsworth will loathe him with a passion that will make Bobby Hassell look like his boyfriend.

    I think I will listen to transcripts only. Great deal by the sounds of it. Cog and cranie to follow hopefully. Obviously I would be over the moon if we could resolve the Steele/bobby stand off...but done that one to death

    Just ignore him Bobby.

    Just because I said this doesn't see the end to Reuben and Reuben could play in front of him I some how don't like this guy.

    I think he could be a very good player for barnsley but I expected a lot more from silva and he seems a similar type of play to me.

    Can't wait for pre season to see him play.

    Harrogate looks likely to be the first maybe.

    They play in what's effectively the fourth tier - in Germany there aare three national leagues, then it splits to Regional league North and South - Bayern II play in the South league. So I guess L2 is the closest comparator being that it's the fourth tier. Not all the teams are pro though.

    TBH Phil I'm not expecting too much of an impact from him, not for at least 6 months, and i'd prefer Reuben to start ahead of him, unless it is blatantly clear in training that he is way better.

    Played in 3rd tier but were relegated last season.

    I stand corrected, the relegation was year before.
