A quote from him after Friday's game "The abuse from the fans is heartbraking, you could say, I've got to work harder in training and I'll be going to the gym to lose the weight then I'll be happy playing again" Sounds like a footballer who has no confidence, what happened over the summer it's like a different player has shown up.
I thought he looked fitter on friday and contributed in his short spell well. Hope he gets his confidence back and we see him in the form like the end of last season. BTW where is the quote from?
I also thought he'd lost some weight. I thought he would have got a start on Friday allow Hourihane to play in the hole behind the strikers and to give us some width to ease the pressure on Dudgeon.
He looked quick on Friday night - a bit rusty but he came on at a time when we weren't firing. I'd have played him instead of Hemmings. He's still a massive asset to us because we all know he's got the ability - he's still only young and we often forget that. The Bayern Munich tag is something he has to live with but he'll be reight. Plus I do like his arse.
Agree Dyson. He'll come good again. He's definitely got some talent, just needs to get himself in shape. If fans were giving him stick they need to have a word with themselves.
I thought he looked a bit slimmer, but the lad looked so short on confidence. Different player than second half of last season. Not surprising if he is receiving abuse, which isn't called for even if the lad is struggling. Well, especially because he's struggling.
He's had a bad start but he's not in the side because we're playing so well. That's not a bad position to be in - when he came in after MK Dons last year he was full of running & graft. When he gets that back he'll come good.
I highly doubt the authenticity of this quote. And if it is fabricated, it's hardly going to help him is it? I've seen what a fit and in form Dale Jennings can offer, and it's awesome to watch. Not seen anywhere near enough of it, mind, and not at all this season. He does look a bit trimmer though, but it's his natural build - he's a stocky lad. It's a bit of pisstaking on my part when calling him Fat Dale etc. Because if he's fat, I want to be fat. He's a terrific asset, still young and he's cost us (and still does in terms of wages) good money in BFC terms so I would hope we stick with him and hopefully get the sot of performances out of him that we all know he's capable of. If anyone can, Danny can. Right behind you, Dale. Where nobody can see me.....
Maybe he needs a loan spell to league 2 where he can play a few games to rediscover his form and fitness or is that too obvious?
We haven't enough players to be loaning him out. It's up to him to perform from the bench and force his way in.
