Yeovil Town striker Phil Jevons has agreed to join Bristol City.

Jevons, who has been top goalscorer at Huish Park for the last two seasons, will join City on a two-year deal on a Bosman free transfer.

"There was interest from other clubs in the north," chairman Stephen Lansdown told BBC Radio Bristol.

"Obviously his relationship with Gary Johnson is a big factor, and Bristol City as a club and the potential of the club was also a major factor."
