Now i have never been a fan of jim, even last season when he received the players player i really didnt rate him and im still the same. What has he done to deserve a new contract? Iv even tried looking at it with jim mcnulty tinted spectacles on and i really dont understand it, in my opinion hes useless.
    Anyone disagree??????/

He won player's player of the season last season because he did well when he first arrived. He's had an injury ravaged last year and hasn't been able to find any sort of from which is kind of understandable. During the time that he was in the team, no one was playing well, not just him.

If the fans stay off his back next season then I think he will do well. I'd like to see him on the left side of a 3. He'll come good.

Hassell and O'Brien to name but two had awful first seasons so let's give him another season. Suspect more of a squad player if Flicker gets a centre half in

I wouldn't say O'Brien had much of a season this year either to be honest.

Yea hes not great technically is he, puts a hell of a lot of effort in though and seems like the type that can really boost moral in the side.

We did the 'McNulty' debate t'other day.

I was called deluded on here for suggesting I rate Jimmy.

On twitter, I was called a sp*stic for saying the same thing.

But I'm sticking to my guns, delusional or sp*sticated, and saying I rate Jimmy 'Nults' McNulty.

I thought he was fantastic at the beginning of the season before last but his form dipped and he had injuries. I hope he re-signs for us as I think, under Flicker, he can become a really important player for us and I think he can play centre-half, left back and as a holding central midfielder.

Had a decent first season, the only issue I have with him is the fact he cant head a ball. He's not dominating enough to be a centre half.

Keith made him out to be a footballing centre half, this meant pass it back to Steele, to McNulty, to Steele etc etc.

Normally resulting in losing possession and conceding a goal.

I thought McNulty had a half decent first season; this last season has been a write off for him, and its unfair to say he's had a bad season, considering he's missed the majority through injury.

I think the point of him getting players player of the season last season wasn't purely based on performance in matches, I think it factors in training too. Jimmy's career has been stop start due to injury; before playing about 40 games last season, the most he'd ever managed in a season was 14 if I remember correctly. That was a massive plus of his career to date, unfortunately he's not managed to get much game time this season, but it would be unfair in my opinion to release him whilst he's in a stage of rehabilitation. The club have probably offered him a 1 year deal because of his injury proneness.

You haven't to worry, if McNulty is as bad as most make out on here, he'll not get a sniff at the first team, besides i think its fair to say, we'll be signing at least 1 centre half in the summer, if not 2.

My thoughts exactly, and the heading problem is my main concern, if hes not a dominant enough cb he wont get in there, hes not better than TK or golbourne and i cant see him gettin in our center midfield with perks, etuhu and dawson. Just dont no where hel fit in

I think he's a talented lad, just a bit error prone at times. There's definitely signs he can be a good player for us though, he had a decent 1st season & did well in the home games v Burnley & Leeds when Flicker brought him back in.

Some of the stick he's got has been way over the top.
