Wigan midfielder Jimmy Bullard is talking to Fulham about a possible move to the Craven Cottage outfit. Latics boss Paul Jewell said Fulham had made a bid which triggered a clause in the 27-year-old's contract. "Jimmy is talking to them and I'll be disappointed to lose him," said Jewell. "But we had to have the clause as he'd have otherwise been out of contract." Fulham manager Chris Coleman confirmed: "He is a terrific player and hopefully we can come to some sort of agreement." Coleman added: "I don't want to come across as too confident and nothing has been agreed as yet." Jimmy Bullard's career statistics Jewell revealed Bullard's agent had demanded the clause be a part of his contract, otherwise he would not have signed and would now be able to leave on a free. "He had this clause that he could go for a certain amount of money and that has been exercised by Fulham," he said. "His agent insisted that he had to have it and we had no option. "It's a chance for Jimmy to go back down to London and secure his family's future. "I'm disappointed to lose him but these things happen in football and we have to cash in really." Bullard joined Wigan from Peterborough for £275,000 in January 2003 after spells with Gravesend and West Ham. He has made 42 appearances this season and scored four goals for Jewell's side.
