I posted a while ago saying I was at risk of redundancy unless I could find something else in company, well it's official as this morning I was served with notice of redundancy. I'm actually ok with it, want out of this place and being pushed with a decent payoff (11 months salary) is the best way of getting out. So I'm not seeking any sympathy, just providing an update to anyone who may be interested.
Anyway - onto the purpose of my post, been looking on Barnsley Council jobs and there's one at a school with salary listed and in brackets it says "actual salary", it's term time plus 4 weeks, so I presume that's probably working during summer hols other than 2 weeks. Still be decent holidays.
Does that mean that is what the succesful candidate would be paid rather than they often say "pro-rata" meaning that it's the amount minus the hours you aren't working cause it's part time?

Bad luck with the redundancy - it sucks whether you want it or not (been there myself).

AFAIK that is what you would be paid for the year - with time off at Christmas, Easter and Summer - but I think it might be averaged out over the year so you don't have to starve in August.

I know how you feel, pal.

But you seem to have the right spirit, so good luck in your future endeavours.

Unfortunately, I can't be of assistance regarding your query.
