He'd prove nothing against Pavlik. He'll win, end his career unbeaten and earn loads for fighting Jones. Common sense.

Fight an old has been who has been beat a few times in the last few years.

Or fight the unbeaten young champ, who beat Jermaine Taylor. Jermaine Taylor was the boxer who beat Bernard Hopkins to end his reign. I also think that Taylor would be too good for JC.

Quite a few people have called JC and he has never faced them.Hopkins wanted him ages ago and so did Jones. Waithing until there both old men does little to boost your rep.

You would think that with Pavlik calling out JC for the last 2 years that he would want to shut the new kid on the block up.

Pavlik will be too good for JC and he probably knows it.

So for that reason JC will prove to a lot of people he is the real deal if he can beat somone like Pavlik.

Beating an old has been, does little for me to prove that.

    Three words;

    Kessler and Lacy.

He proved nothing then, Kessler is a rugged boxer not really considered great. And as for Lacy who?

You on about the same Lacy who struggled to a points win against Manfredo not long ago.

Pavlik has challenged and beat some big names unlike Lacy ever did.

JC will prove nothing to fight an has been. But he will prove himself if he beats, Taylor or Pavlik.

Pavlik would be a very big draw in the states and should be over here.

JC predicted Gary Locket who he spars with would beat Pavlik but he was destroyed in 3.

You prove yourself against the best at the present time. Not by fighting against someone who was the best 7 years ago. And at this time Pavlik is looking like the real deal

Calzaghe has nothing to prove, just his financial future to secure. Pavlik looked very good against an out of his depth Locket, but I really don't see why Calzaghe needs to fight him. Pavlik needs Calzaghe more than Calzaghe needs Pavlik. If they don't fight Calzaghe's legacy will not be diminished. History books will see Roy Jones as a better name on his record than Kelly Pavlik.

JC also predicted Big Mac would beat Haye. It's amazing how your judgement can be impaired when your mates are involved.

Agreed that Lacy looked poor both fights after Calzaghe made him look silly, but before that he was hyped as being invincible. You're being harsh on Kessler, he's a top fighter.

The reason Lacy struggled against Manfredo was because of what he went through in his previous fight. If Lacy had fought him before Calazghe, he would have made easier work from it. I don't blame Joe for wanting to face Roy Jones because he's a name star who's done it all and he would make more money from the fight.
