Another in the long line of football psychos. First he tries to stub a cigarette out in a teammates eye, now he attacks an Everton fan and then another teammate.

    Chuck him in prison.

    Stuart Pearce should

Terminate his contract.. In any other job fighting with your workmates would end in dismissal.. but then that f.ucking wan.ker Gordon Taylor will come out from the PFA harping on about his rights etc etc (foff)

well his chucking i soon anyway, fromt mirror this AM

23 July 2005

CHEW IDIOT BARTON

From David McDonnell in Bangkok

JOEY BARTON has been put on the transfer-list by Manchester City after a drunken brawl in which he bit team-mate Richard Dunne on a pre-season tour of Bangkok.

Barton bit Dunne on the hand in the fight, leaving a trail of blood, and also slapped a 15-year-old football fan in the face after the row erupted in a hotel bar in Bangkok.

City boss Stuart Pearce was so enraged with Barton he wanted the wayward midfielder thrown in Bangkok's notorious police cells for the night to teach him a lesson.

And Barton, who flew home last night in disgrace, is now set to be shown the door by City after the latest shameful episode in his controversy-packed career.

And as well as a wound to his hand from Barton's bite

it has also emerged Dunne may have suffered a broken foot as the two team-mates fought each other on the floor of the Radisson Hotel.

City moved swiftly to exonerate Dunne and laid the blame squarely with Barton, whose promising career now looks over after his latest loss of self-control.

Disgraced Barton has already been fined two weeks' wages - around £30,000 - and is now likely to be shown the door by City after bringing further shame on himself and the club.

The incident took place in the early hours of yesterday morning after City's players who are in Thailand to compete in the Premier League Trophy - had returned to their hotel following a meal.

Barton became embroiled in a row with Everton fans in the bar of the Radisson Hotel and sparked the ugly scenes when he slapped the teenage fan who had been goading him.

Dunne intervened and asked Barton to apologise to the fan. But when Barton refused, the team-mates began to fight, with Barton leaving a trail of blood on the carpet by biting Dunne's finger.

When City boss Pearce heard of the incident, he was so appalled he felt the only appropriate punishment for Barton was a night in Bangkok's police cells. But Thai police are unlikely to press charges because they have not received a formal complaint arising from the appalling episode.

Pearce said: "I am very disappointed in Joey's behaviour. I treat my players like adults until they betray my trust."

I seem to remember his being involved in an incident last season in a pre-season 'friendly' at Doncaster. Anyone remember what he did? Bad tackle or something worse, I think.

I remember a bad tackle that resulted in a brawl. Somethings telling me that was Jody Morris. I dunno, probably both centre of a brawl.

Yeah, i seem to think that he 2 footed someone and caused a mass brawl then got sent off.... Which was about a week after he told Keegan he was going to stop being a tw.at..I just think he's one of those players who will always cause trouble

    This is what happened...

"Another red card in a pre-season friendly at Doncaster for starting a brawl showed that such flashes of temper and an absence of self-control were deep-rooted problems."
