Too old for the Championship, we need another striker to play along side Hume and fast. Can't get into the right positions anymore unfortunately.
So who do you have in mind then?? IMO Macken was strong up front and did all the "ugly" stuff fantastic allowing Hume to do more of the fancy stuff. We played it to his feet it that is when he can hurt people. He may not score the goals but if he's doing all that to help Hume then good on him Would any other striker have fought for the ball like Macken did for Humes' goal. I don't think so SUPER, SUPER JON. SUPER JONNY MACKEN!!
Have to say was impressed with both Macken and Hulme, be good to see if they can get a partnership going now.
Sorry but a decent striker with half a yard of pace would have scored last night, he looked half dead after 55 minutes and yet was left on the pitch like a dieing horse for another 25 minutes. We need another striker if we are to get out of the relegation scrap. He can still pass the ball and hold it up but we need more from a front man, we need goals.
I not eve gonna waste my time arguing this one...... MACKEN WAS SUPERB LAST NIGHT! you need your eyes testing and to be more realistic...... Their are many quick strikers in this division but few have the first touch, awareness, strength and graft of Macken. Last night for the first time he and Hume looked like they were forging a partnership, and understanding...... good sign! bring on Saturday!!
Nope he is shot, he is ala Sheron!! No longer good enough and wont score 8 goals this season which is not good enough, him and KO need replacing and quickly
or the new Paul Wilkinson ?</p> He didn't score many but his contribution was to assist <strike>Hume </strike>Hendrie to fill his boots.</p>
You are never going to get 90 minutes out of Macken and last night I was saying he should have got replaced when they pulled one goal back. He does a good job and I have no doubt he will chip in with the odd goal every few games. If it means he brings Hulmes natural game out then so be it.
bfc bub what are you smoking before the match **** me if it makes you trip like this it must be strong
I don't think one performance makes us world beaters like many on here are marking us down as mate. I thought Macken was ordinary last night, i thought we should have made subs a lot earlier in the game instead of flogging players till they can hardly walk. Saturday will be a good marker for this team, i for one think we will return to same old boring negative football without the added heat of a derby atmosphere.
Never got a chance, would just like to see him given a go with this side. He can't do worse than any of the other non scoring strikers
