johnny hendries arrival in the promotion season, old head, holds it up well, does the simple stuff well, even runs with the same bow legged cowboy look. Johnny made the difference that season, if we can keep hold of him, I'm sure john will make the difference this season.

Said the same myself on Saturday.

The similarities between this season and 96-97 are frightening. Surely the outcome is not going to be the same, is it ??

Hendrie didn't score in his first four games

His first goal came in his fifth game , away at Port Vale . Macken's fifth game is at Wednesday tomorrow night. That would be a fine place to open his account .

    Barnsley 2 - Charlton 0

Stan scores with an awkward angled header half way through the first half at the Ponty End. Charlton come back into it and are unlucky not to equalise, but late on JCR cuts in from the left, beats 2 men in the box and fires into the bottom corner. Oakwell erupts as the reds clinch promotion to the Premiership for the 2nd time.

You read it here first :D :D

    No from last night

I love it on here - one defeat and we all moan moan moan, then we beat the top of the league and suddenly we are dreaming of promotion again

I never moan but I love to get carried away when we are doing well - it's what footy fans are for.

    After Saturday's win

If we were to come away from these next two games at Wednesday & Ipswich undefeated , then it'd be very difficult for any of us to keep our feet on the ground .

    Spot on.

I do a nice line in lead insoles if anyone wants to order any. Dave Regis was a good customer of mine back then.
