Has anyone noticed that John Smith's bitter ain't what it used to be; since they started brewing it in Lancashire. One of my locals has had it taken out altogether, the other suspended deliveries on it, until "they get it right". The latter has replaced it with Coachmans from the Coach House Brewery, which is quite a passable pint.
Its always been revolting Hard to see how they could make it worse. Now his brother Samuel - he knew how to brew a decent pint
I will tell thee a little secret I just picked up 6 bottles of Hen`s Tooth but dont tell anyone , might drop you a couple off if you want em?
Its not all John Smiths Its not all John Smiths that's being brewed in Warrington, only the cask conditioned(traditional)version,I've never been a fan of Johns, but I think it has improved it.
Dont really know You certainly only get the keg rubbish no idea where its brewed but it really is a drink of last resort
John Smiths.....................wouldn't wash mi car in it same goes for Sams.........and as for Tetleys (puke)
RE: John Smiths.....................wouldn't wash mi car in it Tetleys is bad. Don't know how you can say Sams isn't nice. Right stuff. What's your preferred drink?
RE: John Smiths.....................wouldn't wash mi car in it Tetleys is a reight drink on hand pull, tinned stuff is ****.... John Smiths aint too bad imo' neither , many a time i've enjoyed getting pissed on the stuff. That sam smiths'' though , your right is pewtred....
Best bitter is 'STONES' straight from the brewery pumps What a pint. We were on a 'Commitee' trip a while since and this was in the bar of the brewery hospitallity suite.
Of the more common beers, Timothy Taylors is good.............but But The smaller breweries are turning some reight stuff out these days Bradfield at sheffield is good Kelham Island at Sheffield has some good stuff Acorn and Wentworth also do some good'uns Can't remember most of the individual names but trying different beers is why I go in Bramahs and the Gatehouse before home matches Find one and stick at it Once you try these beers you will not touch John Smiths and Tetleys and the like ever again Unless of course there aint nowt else to sup
