I've read all the comments on here, some positive, some negative, some as usual away with the fairies. My opinion, for what it's worth: John Stones is technically an excellent player. He seems to have all the attributes required; ball skills, desire, commitment and common sense. He seems to be down to earth, proud to be from Barnsley and keen to put something back into the community, be it local to Barnsley or wherever he is plying his trade as a professional footballer. No doubt his head is being turned somewhat by all the media hype saying he is a prospective England captain and that there is interest from Chelsea, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Man City, Man United et al. But he is only 21; at the risk of sounding old (and I probably am, as John was born on my Dad's 76th birthday) he potentially has the world at his feet and I for one hopes that he ignores all the media hype and the criticism when he has the odd bad game; he just shrugs it off and gets on with playing football, which I believe is what he truly loves doing. Keep on doing what you are doing John, enjoy it, ignore the hype and the negative comments. Don't believe in your own publilcity, just be yourself and you will continue to be a great ambassador for yourself, your family, your town, your club, your country and the game of football.
It doesn't help the lad playing alongside that plank Jagielka. Every time I've seen them together,Jagielkas never done him any favours. Think it would be likewise with Cahill if he does go to Chelsea. He'd be better player alongside Kompany at City or at Barcelona
