Very poor from John messing about there. Seconds later it's a penalty and the equaliser.

He's getting a bit like Alfie Mawson

At least it was just a slip rather than struggling with the ball or a technical issue or summert

He slipped. And Rose had something to do with it too.

Tries to do too much, he needs to stop these daft mistakes... he's made far too many this season. I love Stones and I want to see him hit the very top, I just hope he learns from all these mistakes.

I think stones played well, but he dropped a right bollock. Just because he's from barnsley doesn't mean you can't pick faults... he's going to be one of the best players this country has ever produced, I hae no doubt about that but he's made some very silly mistakes all season.

But that was a slip, not a mis-placed pass, not a lack of concentration, He was simply bringing the ball out, and his left leg slipped. If a penalty hadn't been given, little would've been said. The biggest talking point should be their second goal. There is no way the ref can see that as a fair challenge.

Very poor from John. He's facing his own goal with the keeper open. He is a fantastic footballer unfortunately he has given woy a reason not to pick him, and trust me he won't want to pick stones drinkwater or vardy if he has the slightest reason. There's talk of Wiltshire being picked. Brilliant player but he hasn't played for a season. He'll get the nod over diyer and drinkwater if he's even near fit.

99 times out 100 he will do that without slipping, So why Should a slip make it a piece of poor play. It's unfortunate that it lead to a penalty.

At least it adds a bit of realism to the daft we are going to run away with the Euros talk after the Germany game.

I understand that but it gives Roy the chance not to pick him for being 'too risky'

I think he is the nearest to Bobby Moore I've seen but there sometimes is the row z option

He's our best ball playing central defender and it seems Roy likes his team to play from the back. If anything, his selection, would be more likely to be hindered by his situation at Everton where he's not played much of late.
As for Row Z, I wouldn't have been happy if 1 of our players in League 1 had booted it out it that situation.

Really, not read much media or even watched that game but if that's what still gets spouted after a England "friendly" win its laughable. We won't win a tournament with the likes of Milner, Jagielka, Vardy, Drinkwater, Cahill, Dier, etc etc in the squad. We won't reach the quarters this summer.

At least he did it in a meaningless friendly and will hopefully continue to learn.

Sometimes I think it gets forgotten that he's still only 21 and has a fantastic upside potential. He played two passes tonight that showed what he can do that no other English centre half can - Cahill won't play two balls like that in his entire career!

I seem to remember most England managers couldn't handle the best passer I've seen, Glenn Hoddle, back in the day and we had to suffer eighty-odd underachieving games of Butch soddin' Wilkins as the 'safer' option. Hopefully we've moved on from that and can nurture Stones' rare talent to realise its full potential.

He didn't make as many mistakes as the ref.

Plus England still had several chances to clear so poor all round. I could list every England's player mistakes over past two games but let's just focus on one or two. Our captains marking for Germany's second, Butland for their first ...

A slip's a freak accident, it's one of them things. You can't account for it.

Anyone with an ounce of footballing knowledge would be far more concerned with Danny Rose's performance, clearly gave away a pen in the first half that wasn't given then gave away another in the second half with his hands in an unnatural position.

I enjoyed Stones performance, defended well & played two superb balls, enjoyed the way Drinkwater dropped deep & allowed the full backs to push on with Stones playing out from the back
