According to David Moyes statement in paper interview, Everton only paid 1.5 million for John Stones. I was always led to believe it was 3 million.... Was I alone in this?
I believe Patrick Cryne has said in the past that Moyes is 100% wrong about this when he quoted a low price a few months ago. As Patrick Cryne pointed out, Moyes wasn't even involed in the negotiations
what is the point in this post what are you driving at ?... Stones has gone does it now matter what the fee was as all is done and dusted...so why ? Oh and if you believe in the sell on clause nonsense... then you really should re-visit Santa Clause, the Easter Bunny, Tooth Fairy and other such nonsense
Re: what is the point in this post Of course there is a sell on clause; it's widely known we have a sell on clause, we just don't know the %. And the reason it's been brought up again today is because it was mentioned by Moyes this morning.
Re: what is the point in this post At a open forum meeting with Lee, Mansford and Cryne, they mentioned 15%
Re: what is the point in this post So they'll tell a handful of fans over a beer but as far as I recall there has never been an official statement.
Re: what is the point in this post And a sell on of his next but one move or something but let's move on.
Re: what is the point in this post If I call correctly what Patrick said was that if Everton also arranged a sell on we would get the 15% of that also.
Because theres a non disclosure agreement in place so they won't ever write the figure in an official statement.
Re: what is the point in this post Bored of this stones fee sh1tw now. if we had got 5m for him I very much doubt Everton would have allowed a 15% sell on clause in as well. It could be worse. Southampton renegotiated a 25% sell on clause for bale in return for 3m when they were skint
NDAs usually cover disclosures of any kind. If there is one in place then I appreciate the position the club is in with regards to making statements but it does surprise me that they would disclose the details to a group of fans at an open forum.
The club has put out a statement denying what he said; http://www.barnsleyfc.co.uk/news/article/club-statement-john-stones-2957511.aspx
