I read a few of the Everton forums and they seemed to be impressed with his full debut. It's nice to see him finally get a chance and it seems that Distin and Jagielka are both out for another week so hopefully he'll get another couple of games to impress further. Also, It must give him confidence that Martinez trusts him instead of Heitinga who until recently was a first pick in the Holland team.

Maybe. In an ideal world you'd have wanted your central defender to get a bit more purchase on a clearing header. However, you could argue that he did clear it and they didn't defend the second ball well.

One of my good mates is an avid Everton supporter, and keeps me updated on Stonesy. Said he had a good game - I've told him they've a forthcoming England defender there. Don't forget it was Martinez who, whilst Wigan manager, was the first to come asking, but Moysy nipped in for him. Strange thing is that fate!!

I'd say definitely, as a defender you need to clear it high and long. If you can't get it long then as high as possible.

He'll learn though, he's a future England international.

He'd have been at fault if his initials were SW :)
