    I've been saying all along that's where he'll go in a year or two, lumped on with the biggest bet I've ever had on him seeing this transfer window out as a Everton though so you may jest but I think that's exactly what will happen.

    well he is on a 5 year contract at Everton I believe

    so if we do actually have this mythical sell on clause then we will be ok.

    Wasn't that more experienced defender Vermaelen who spent the entire season injured?

    Just imagine him playing in El Classico or the champions league final and thinking 'I've seen him down at Oakwell' that would be strange.
