Absolutely horrendous tonight and has been all season. Can't see us getting anything for him never mind 15% or whatever of £40 million.
cruel twist of fate innit. if he doesn't have a strong euros he could go for half what chelsea had on the table
He looked completely broken when they brought him off. Straight down tunnel. Hopefully he can snap out of this downward spiral soon.
It is certainly true that he is not looking like a mega million centre half. Not getting "anything" for him is a bit over deflative though. True, he might get stuck at Everton
Martinez has been found out. Look at Evertons squad. A decent manager would have them challenging for Europe. Baines Jagielka Stones Coleman Cleverly Barry McCarthy Mirallas Barkley Lukaku
He's had an absolute shocker of a season. The quicker he can get away from the management of Martinez the better.
He is having a mare at Everton think he will be gone for a new start somewhere but not for 40 million. Be lucky if everton get half of that. Still there's always oakwell if he fancys winding his contract down and coming home.
Way he's played this season he might well be a bench warmer in the Euros and that's going to have a significant impact on how much we get for him when he's inevitably sold.
The talent that Everton have they should be a lot higher up the table than they are. Something isn't right with that club but he could still end the season an FA cup winner and in the England squad. He just needs to get away from them in the summer.
He went off ill with sickness and stomach cramps tonight. He made 2 errors which cost goals. He didn't have a great deal to do prior to those mistakes apart from make some telling blocks. We do like to go over the top on this board don't we. He will leave for big money in the summer and for not far off the £40 million mark as well.
totally agree. Cracking squad! Great team on paper but as the quote goes football not played on paper. Moyes to come back next season?
We'll have to play the waiting game. A manager worth his salt will get the best out of him and we'll be looking at £40million again in the not too distant future.
I don't see it as a Stones issue, I see it as a Martinez issue. So many players underachieving under him. I'd expect to see Stones & the others improve under a new manager & I still expect clubs to bid for Stones because his abilities obvious & any top manager will see a lot of potential to work with
He has lost his confidence, which he was always going to do at some point at such a young age. It strikes me his development has stalled and he needs to move to a better coaching set up. At 21 he is still a much sought after, valuable asset and I expect Man City, Man Utd and Chelsea to be competing for his signature this summer.
Still cant believe Martinez got the job in the first place. I mean I know Wigan werent the biggest club about but they'd established themselves in the PL for about 7 years prior to him going there. He narrowly escaped relegation one season before taking them down the next, all the while Whelan claiming he was the best manager in Europe. This Everton side is probably more talented than the Spurs one for my money, Stones,Coleman, Barkley, Delofeou, Lukaku, they are supremely talented young players yet look where they are. I've said it about numerous managers over the last few years but Martinez is the prime culprit. He's living off Barcelona's success in trying to build little tika taka sides, the difference between those who do it successfully and not though are the ones who can adopt the philosophy to suit the players at his disposal, something Lee Johnson failed to do for much of his reign here.
