Everton want £50 million for John, and want Man City to then pay the release clause fee on top. I actually think we'll get it quicker if City pay it.
Well they really are they. What they are actually arguing is whether the transfer fee should be £50m (for example) or £57.5m. In essence Everton are saying we will sell him to you but we want £57.5m so that we clear £50m profit and Man City are saying we will buy him but for £50m total. Everton pay the sell on regardless but they want more money to cover it from man city first It's not different to selling a car that needs a couple of new tires. The buyer says it's up for sale for £500 but it needs two new tires fitting so I'll give you £400 and the seller says nope, I want £500 profit
Interesting, doesn't the sell on fee increase in the case that City pay it since the overall sale price is increased?
Yes it does. It's a percentage of the total. But remember that even if he only goes for £10m and Everton pay it out of that it is still man city who are actually paying it
Everton, lol, they bought him for sod all, with the sell on clause, how can they possibly argue who pays the sell on? If its true they should hang onto John and let city get him for free.
If Everton want £50m after sell on fee, that gets us 8.4353m by my calculations (assuming that the initial fee was 2.2m and it's 15% of the profit) My calculation for anyone interested: x-(15(x-2.2)/100) = 50 It brings x (or the total transfer fee) out at 58.4353
In that scenario I can see the logic but the suggestion from the OP was that there may be a Mexican standoff between the two clubs. Ultimately I don't think it will make much difference, not if City really want him.
I doubt that to be honest. That's Patrick just keeping his powder dry for me. He'll make some of it available if he needs to. He just won't blow it all. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Who cares? It'll go into the long term security coffers of BFC. I'm waiting for United to gazump any City offer. The two best managers in Europe at the two Manc clubs? I can't see Jose letting Pep have John without a money ruck. For once, we'll come out laughing, Stones isn't worth half what they're talking.. As much as I like the lad.
Of course. That much was intimated at the whatsit last week. Any Stones funds will secure the long term financial stability of the club. And that might include shelling out a bit to avoid relegation to League 1 poverty. That's how I heard it. And I know nowt.
indeedy. you know what though. i have a horrible feeling the whole circus will fall through, and both mancs will go after other targets..
