Makes it seem like we might have been one he applied for in the past
Seem to remember him being linked to a whole host of jobs when he hung his boots up and whilst being assistant to Dean Smith at Villa, but in his words at the time was keen to remain at the highest level. Those leagues not below him now then?
League One is a fairly high level. If he really wanted to apply himself (and backed himself to actually do a job of work rather than seeing it as a step towards working at the level I suspect he thinks he deserves) I'm sure the likes of Oldham, York or other big-name National League teams would have given him a shot, at the very least. If not, start lower than that, exceed expectations in the job, and work your way up. It's not like he's in need of a big salary, and he'd walk into the role at any team at NL N/S level. Or do what Conor did, join the coaching staff at a lower level and wait for the opportunity. That's still a hell of a lot more than anybody else with his experience could get.
Dear John, Everyone in football knows your experience as both a player and coach. If they are inviting you to interviews then I assure you that they are already aware of your lack of experience and are happy to overlook it. If they are inviting you for an interview and then not giving you one then it is purely because of your attitude and personality at the interview To put it another way, at every interview you've ever been to for a managers job you have shown the interviewer that you are a grade A cnu.t
Seem to recall he previously said he went for an interview with a L1 club and turned them down as the owners were telling him how they wanted him to play at the time people were asking if it was us.
I’m not too sure what he’s said wrong reading that, as far as a pro goes he’s as good as it gets with a good C.V, a can see why he’d be narked too
Yeah but if he got a job with some team, would get get up to his old tricks again. Didn't he get caught 'playing away'.
What a player he was, but not sure he’s going to hit it off as a head coach. He seems to voice his opinion on social media posts, I’ve seen him comment on political posts, posts you’d expect him to comment on. Whether you agree with that or not I can’t see clubs taking on someone who’s so outspoken on social media. Especially when they don’t have any managerial experience.
