"A word now about Andy Ritchie. I was very impressed with the way he managed the team from Walsall to the Millenium, when the going got tough, he certainly got the team going. He showed a side to his managemant skills I didn't think he had and I am sure he can build on the experience.

How about extending his contract Mr Shepard before someone comes in for him?"

You just said "I hope I'm not right about Ritchie ... we'll end up back in the ale house league".
So which is it? Is he crap - or is he great & should be given a new contract?

    Good stuff.

I'm not bothered if people love him or loathe him ... it's the ones that change their minds with the differing fortunes of the team that do my box in.

It's just like watching "Brasil" ...

    Allan Clarke weren't bad either...

From low in 4th Division to near top of 3rd, until Norman Hunter took over.

Agree Clarke was great for a while.

    At a lower level.

You can't knock that Glavin side. It would give Wilson's team a game.

...and it would hammer the Ritchie side without embarressment.

dont agree.it was hard working but not the quality and potential that this team has.

Quality and potential? Two names: Glavin and McCarthy.

Ian Banks should've turned out much much better than he did, because he was fantastic (but that's potential for you, doesn't always fulfill), Derek Parker would easily get in our team now, as would Trevor Aylott. As good as Devaney and McIndoe are, could you turn away Stuart Barrowclough? Bobby Horn was a very good goal keeper.

We haven't got anything anywhere near Glavin, and we probably have only once or twice in the history of the club.

Mick McCarthy... well what needs to be said?

I'd much rather we had that team now, and I mean no disrespect to the side we've got today, because I think they've got a lot going for them.

Aylott, Glavin,McCarthey.....and Banks.. i guess would make the current team

Not Barrowclough, Parker or Bobby Horne. But who would you have as manager?

    Clarke's team, Ritchie's team talk...

I don't mean any disrespect to Alan Clarke, but I don't think he was as astute as Ritchie is. I think Ritchie could have got Clarke side to the top flight.

Do you honestly believe that any one of our present "strike force" could keep Derek Parker out of the team? You amaze me!

You'd swap the two sides, overall, wouldn't you?

Seriously now. What would that Glavin side do to the current Wednesday team?
