I noticed that,we've conceded about 7 or 8 less than the same stage last season,I always thought Shackell was a very good tackler and ball player, but we conceded a lot of headed goals last season that people seemed to blame on Foster,Hassell Hill, Trippier or McEveley, leaving the young god himself as blameless.
Think it's more of a team effort rather than just the defence - they are hunting in packs and are giving the opposition very little time on the ball
That's been the most impressive thing for me - the way we've defended collectively. The amount of times yesterday we forced Coventry back was unreal and that starts from Andy Gray.
I agree about collective defence and the amount of possession we have had with attacking intent, but at this stage last year we had conceded 17,Shackell is very good on the ground but a below average Central defender in the air, have to say I thought too many people seemed to want to blame others for his shortcomings.
