Sorry but that just doesn't make sense

A postponement costs the club thousands. They still have to pay staff, police, stewards, pay for things like programmes, which are now useless.

If youre going to have a conspiracy theory, that the club had wanted the match off, they would have at least done it yesterday, saying the heating had failed to have saved money on staffing.

Utter rubbish in my view that the club wanted the game off.

They use to just stick a new front cover on the programmes for re-arranged games. Brum`s midweeks took up next month so re-arranged game should be one of the last 2 Tuesdays this month.

I phoned club at 10am. Game 99% on. Shows they don't communicate. Had to apologise to Brum fans in pub

Why would you believe the rumour though? Doesn't make sense. the club loses money and lots of it with postponement.

Heaters being used may have helped, but I fail to see how it's Don's fault. Even if the heating system failed, or the switch was turned on too late, Why is that Dons responsibility? He's the general manager, not a member of the ground staff.

The Manager of a company is responsible for everything, that's why they get paid so much.

Even Hartlepool got their game on today.

Utter b*llox - they knew the weather forecast - only club with USH to be cancelled

the rumours in the boozers today was that the heating wasn't on.

    I can well believe that

Yet again Jokwell numptys make us look like a f*cking laughing stock

Under soil heating on constant and blowrs in the areas that were struggling.

Paul Hudson on Look North been saying for days about 2 degrees in the day and minus 5 at night.

F*cking embarasing the powers that be at Jokewell

Someone could ring the club and ask what went wrong. I'm sure they'd be happy to help!

Someone said in a previous thread that the heating system wasn't working properly earlier on in the week and engineers had been out. If that's true or not........

Why don't you wait to see what the ACTUAL facts are rather than a rumour you've heard down the pub before slagging the club off? Is it feasible that the heating system broke overnight for instance? FFS!

Re: FIRED - Facts at 12pm from the people on the ticket desk were...Goal Areas Frozen

My thoughts are that the heating was on, but failed in areas of the pitch. I suspect that the club was fully confident that the game would go ahead, because they knew we were covered by the under soil heating. Hence they didn't tell anybody that there would be a pitch inspection, because they genuinely didn't think it would be needed. Then, the ground staff at some point this morning realised that areas of the pitch were still hard, and it's too late to get other kit in to resolve the situation.
To suggest that we want the game off or turned it off deliberately is just absurd, because not only does it cost the club so much money to do so, but because they would be inconveniencing their own fans. The club may have inefficiencies at times, but I really dont think anyone would be that daft.
I don't know the facts.... But I suggest you don't either.. What somebody's mate in the pub said doesn't really wash with me, especially when it doesn't make sense.

No coincidence Paul, the ones blaming the club for the weather are the same ones who twist the knife over lower league signings, gobby manager, cold pies etc.... Says more about them than it'll ever say about the club and the good folk who work there.

Spare a thought too for those who probably travelled half the length of the country before finding out the match was off, don't hear them whinging.

Heating been on all week as it needs to be, but locally temps dropped to -10 last night, but eh ho slate the club and Don in particular at every opportunity. Some people are never happy unless thy are moaning.
