Doesn't hold the ball up well though. We need someone to hold it up and play through the likes of Hemmings, Winnall and the gifted wingers we have
Really? Having watched him twice this season I'd have to disagree. He's the slowest striker I've seen this season, wins nothing in the air, and has no strength or ability to hold up the ball. He's just lanky, quite tricky to play against yes, but not a target man in the obvious sense. I then saw Grant Holt on debut against Millwall and the difference was laughable. If we'd have signed Holt we'd have walked to promotion. Absolutely bullies defenders, through fair or foul means, has fantastic touch technique and a lethal strike on him. He just old mans the defenders, who can't ever relax. Something COGba 'could' do, but rarely did. Not saying he wasn't strong or any good, I loved him, but for a bloke his size he didn't bully defenders enough and spent too much time on the flanks against weaker full backs. Wigan must have some strikers if they've let Holt out on loan. But then, that's one of the games I saw Stead play in, against Wigan. It was 0-0 and he didn't get a kick. And the Wigan forwards were non existent. A level below, Stead might have more joy, but I doubt it. He was at Bradford last year too. One goal in eight games. After seeing him play (only) a couple of games I'm not sure what he offers except for hard work and being a lovely bloke (which he is, a proper gent). He wouldn't get a sniff here, every striker we have is better than him. In my opinion. I fully expect him to fire Bradford to promotion now....
He past it now and hasn't been scoring much over the last 2 years. I think Danny's policy of bringing in younger strikers is the way forward.
The last time he was any good was when he broke onto the scene first time around for Huddersfield. He did nothing at Blackburn, Ipswich or back at Huddersfield. Poor on loan at Oldham too.
Lita has got the ability to hold the ball up and the quality to score goals but his height is an issue when the ball is getting crossed in. We need a target man which begs the question; did we really need to sign the fourth striker in our ranks? Unless Rhys Oates can do the job
